Mr. Vijay Narayan: The Visionary Founder
The story of Asha Handloom is a testament to the entrepreneurial spirit and unwavering dedication of its founder, Mr. Vijay Narayan. Born and raised in the quaint village of Jagatpur, nestled in the heart of the Carpet City Bhadohi, Mr. Narayan embarked on a remarkable journey that would ultimately lead to the establishment of Asha Handloom, a thriving enterprise.
In the early 1970s, armed with a dream and determination, Mr. Narayan started his own Carpet Manufacturing unit with just three weavers in Jagatpur. Initially, the focus was on producing carpets for the domestic market, and through hard work and a commitment to quality, the small unit began to gain recognition.
As the years passed, Mr. Narayan’s dedication bore fruit. The business flourished, and by the mid-1980s, it had expanded to include three manufacturing units in the state of Uttar Pradesh. However, like many entrepreneurs, he faced challenges along the way, notably a downturn in the domestic carpet market in 1985.
Adapting to changing circumstances, Mr. Narayan made a pivotal decision in 1990. He shifted the company’s operations to the bustling city of Delhi and transitioned into the production of other home décor items like Throws, Cushion Covers, Curtains and fashion accessory Shawls. This shift proved to be a strategic move, opening up new opportunities in the domestic market and establishing partnerships with export houses in Delhi.
In 2014, Mr. Vijay Narayan, alongside his family, founded their own export business, under the name Asha Handloom, symbolizing hope and the bright future that awaited.
Under Mr. Narayan’s leadership, Asha Handloom grew from a small village unit with three weavers to a prominent player in the textile industry. His journey from the village of Jagatpur in Bhadohi to the heart of India’s capital is a story of resilience, innovation, and a commitment to quality that defines the legacy of Asha Handloom.

We also weave the beauty of Alpaca into our creations, leveraging its qualities as a remarkable spinning fiber.

Ram Chander’s illustrious career in home furnishing design began in June 1994, when he honed his craft under seasoned industry experts. Specializing in creating exquisite home decor items like throws, cushion covers, and fabrics, Ram brought a unique blend of elegance and functionality to each project.
A pivotal moment in Ram’s journey was his mastery of the Jacquard Handloom, where he intricately designed patterns that set new standards in the industry. His creative contributions extended beyond design; he played a key role in streamlining production processes, ensuring impeccable quality and timely delivery.
Ram’s collaborations with renowned brands like Crate and Barrel, Larsen Fabrics, Zara Home, and more showcased his adaptability across various brand aesthetics, earning him admiration and accolades.
